A production of Goethe’s Faust takes place at the Volksbühne at the Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz in Berlin.
Studio Hamburg Design Works has created the station image, a rail wagon and the entrance to the metro for the scene picture in the Paris subway. In addition a wooden house was created as a backdrop which can be accessed on three levels for the performers. The work performance also includes a substructure for an LED wall as well as a billboard with a pneumatically controlled changing motif.
The main challenge for this project was the design for a repertoire suitabilitybecause the entire stage design must be able to be built up and dismantled within a very short time.
